Sunday we slept in again and woke at 12. We’d planned to make it to Hash House and decided to stroll over anyway and hope they were still serving breakfast. This was my first time inside the IP and it was definitely dark and dingy in there, I think it would make for a depressing stay in my opinion! It didn’t help that there was construction everywhere which made it seem more run down than it probably was.
We got to HHAGG and thankfully they served the pizza sized pancakes (called flapjacks, which is something else entirely in the UK) until 5pm. I ordered the blueberry pecan and Amy got the snickers. I decided to splurge and treat myself with a drink that wasn’t diet coke for once so I ordered the strawberry lemonade, while Amy had the s’mores mocha. Amy added a side of potatoes (to the pancake, not the mocha!) and I ordered a side of whipped cream. The portions were insane, even after seeing it already on Man VS Food. I felt like I had barely made a dent in mine (and really should have taken the rest away to attempt cold!)
Afterwards we had a (rather speedy) browse of IP and caught the deuce while our pass was still valid to get to the bus stop and change for another bus to Walmart. This probably sounds a bit ridiculous but being from England we wanted to stock up on candy, cereal, and other interesting things that we can’t get at home. I bought myself a jumbo box of Froot Loops and Lucky Charms (which ended up lasting me 5 months, rather impressively) along with a whole pile of other crap!
We caught a taxi back to the Flamingo to drop everything off and then paid a visit to Sephora, another shop we no longer get at home. I went a little crazy and bought a bunch of things as expected. We planned to eat at Margaritaville but it was closed for a private event so we agreed on The Cheesecake Factory. We shared the potstickers which were yummy and both ordered pasta for mains. I had a chicken, tomatoey, garlicky dish which I asked to be with angel hair – this turned out to be one of my favourite meals of the trip! Amy ordered some chocolate peanut butter cheesecake to take back to the hotel and I am ashamed to say I passed on dessert completely.
On the way home we had a browse in Paris and Bills, with no major luck on any of the machines. We headed back to Flamingo & Margaritaville casinos where I did an average job on the Wizard of Oz slots, terribly on the Wheel of Fortune, and (thankfully) gloriously well on some Halloween slot machine. Amy had ditched me part way through this gambling session as she’d already spent her limit and (unlike me) didn’t fancy experimenting with tomorrow’s money! After finally getting some luck and winning my money back I headed up to the hotel as well to pack ready to move across to Planet Hollywood tomorrow.
